band goes for record

well we've got the rock star in our blood
and we've got a mind to work it out
now we're working in a practice space
and we've got our own place- if only the lead guitar and bass would shut up
put our record on john- and turn out the radio
now we're working on our attitude
something like we've got nothing to prove
but the subject matter has to be finalized
and our music is quite unorthodox
a mix of funk and jazz and classic rock
it's a genre that will have to be subcatagorized
we've got a mind to work through it- we've got a will to do it

i never loved you- i only loved making you feel like i did
i never wanted you- i only wanted what you had to give
it's so easy to get what i want
the objective- is perspective
'cause a clear view can lead to a view to a kill
and what you see? is only what I will
it's so easy to get what i want
i never loved you- i only loved taking you for all you've got
i never wanted you- i only wanted to watch your insides rot
and that's the funny thing about love...

the scene

given all the days that i waste
given all the foolishness that i chase
i'm giving the scene away
i'll package it up with pretty bows and lace
all the better to throw back in your unsuspecting face
i'm giving the scene away
so here's your chance, here's your break
don't ever give it another chance
don't be like lot's wife and give it another glance- we're gonna blow it to hell
i'm giving the scene away

walking contradiction

i never said i wanted to be like you- so don't put that on me
i never said i was always gonna tell you the truth- but that don't make me a liar
people only tell you what they want you to hear- they're never gonna tell you what they feel for fear that: they don't wanna be alone, i don't wanna be alone, i just want to be a walking contradiction
i never said i didn't still have my faith- i just lost my religion

Knathan Ryan Seattle
Rock? Country? Twang? Rockabilly? Gospel? Garage? Yes. His influences range from his love of Memphis' Sun Studio sound from a very early age, to country, and the Seattle sound of his formative years and are the foundational building blocks to his sense of style. These influences are heard throughout his solo released work and in his bands The Bruised Hearts Revue, SonicDuo and The Silent Ks. ... more
