about

I have a hard time writing love songs. It is such a difficult task for me. So, what is it to fall in love, but to be a fool? The loved, can reject and disregard...ahh, but the lover is helpless and a fool to lay everything on the line...but alas, is it not worth the risk? So, I embraced going over-board with claims on this song- as a fool would. Fighting in a boxing match? Sure. Eating cancer? Absolutely. Fighting the very gates of heaven or hell? No hesitation...a fool indeed. I was listening to a LOT of "Pet Sounds" and "Strange Trails" during the writing of this song. I hope you can tell.

lyrics

I'm a bruised heart baby, for your love.
I'm a punch drunk fighter, for your love.
I'd go to the mat - every round, with eyes shut blind

I'm a foolhearted fool, for your love.

I'd eat the cancer, darlin' for your love.
Every one of life's mysteries answered for your love.
No force of nature, can ever sunder body, soul and mind.

I'm a foolhearted fool, for your love.

I'd be pitied and disgrace, beyond a charity case, a night sky without any stars. I'd be the joke- blind and played every single day, just for a room in your heart.

Seven levels of hell, I'd navigate for your love.
I'd wrestle the angels at the gate for your love.
Every heavenly host I'd take down, one at a time.

I'm a foolhearted fool, for your love.
